JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Jackson Town Council has appointed Don Frank to fill the seat vacated by Melissa Turley. The interview process began on Wednesday with an executive session immediately following 11 interviews. After deliberating late Wednesday, no consensus was reached. The council and mayor reconvened this morning and finally tapped Frank after three total hours of discussion. The decision was unanimous.
Frank will be sworn in to start a scheduled Town Council workshop on January 22 at 2:00 p.m. He will finish the remainder of Turley’s term, ending Dec. 31, 2014.

“Mr. Frank’s character, experience in the Jackson community, leadership qualities, and knowledge of local issues appealed to the Town Council. The people of the Town of Jackson will be well served by Mr. Frank,” Mayor Mark Barron said in a prepared statement.

Frank, 61, came to Jackson Hole in 1990. He is originally from Bergen County, New Jersey where he co-founded a residential construction firm. He currently serves as the President of Dembergh Construction. He has a wife, Maryellen, and two sons, William Michael, 16, and Peter John, 14.

“I am interested in serving on the Jackson Town Council in part because I see opportunity to continue to improve municipal services by leveraging creative intelligence from within our community, by importing translatable solutions from other disciplines, and by optimizing funds through open source creative approaches,” Frank stated in his application to the town. “I have admired the work of Melissa Turley and the current Town Council members and, upon judicious reflection, am eager to make the necessary commitment of significant, thoughtful time and attention to assist our community through dedicated service.”

With the departure of Greg Miles and Mark Obringer, council members were reportedly interested in Frank’s construction background. Miles brought a design and architectural background while Obringer had experience in construction.
