BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Republicans

Paul Vogelheim moves on.

Paul Perry moves on.

Reynolds Pomeroy moves on.

Mark Obringer is out.**

Noteworthy: Vogelheim no surprise to dominate the field. Perry strong as well. Pomeroy barely edges Obringer by 1 vote. **Mandatory recount has been called for in this race.

 

Democrats

Mark Newcomb moves on.

Smokey Rhea moves on.

Ben Ellis moves on.

Hank Phibbs is out.

Noteworthy: Incumbent backlash bites Phibbs and nips at Ellis’ heels. Newcomb blows away the field. Rhea impressive in a comfortable second place finish.

 

MAYOR

Sara Flitner moves on.

Mark Nowlin moves on.

Geneva Chong is out.

Stephen McDonald is out.

Noteworthy: Nowlin made it much closer than we anticipated. Chong not a factor. McDonald was fun while he was around.

 

HOUSE DISTRICT 23

Republicans

Jim Darwiche moves on.

Wally Ulrich is out.

Noteworthy: Darwiche cruised.

 

COUNTY CORONER

Democrats

Brent Blue moves on.

Dave Hodges is out.

Noteworthy: Comfortable victory for the Doc.

 

COUNTY ASSESSOR

Democrats

Andy Cavallaro moves on.

Dee Buckstaff is out.

Noteworthy: Cavallaro won easily.

 

Five of the six SPET ballot items passed. The proposal to fund a new exhibit hall for the fairgrounds for $1.5 million and transform the old building into a maintenance headquarters for Teton County Parks and Rec was struck down.
