JACKSON HOLE, WYO — The missing teenage girl has been found. Dispatch received a report that someone matching the description of 16-year-old Fauna Jackson—missing since Thursday, August 4—was spotted Friday night. Grand Teton rangers were able to make contact with Jackson early this morning. She is unharmed and her condition is being evaluated by Teton County Sheriffs.

Jackson was found near the Snake River Overlook, approximately three to four miles from where she was last seen. An early morning flight by the Wyoming Civil Air Patrol also helped pinpoint the lost teen.

Jackson had altered her appearance by cutting and dying her hair. She was also wearing different clothes than when last seen. When approached by law enforcement officials she fled. An investigation is underway as to why Jackson was “trying” to disappear.

GTNP superintendent David Vela said, “We are relieved and very grateful that Fauna has been found.”  Vela commended the individuals that contributed their time and talent in the effort to find Jackson.
