IN MEMORY: Another Being Creative

Community to celebrate life of Tony Birkholz Monday at the Pink Garter.

“Another being creative in the endeavor of the eternal now.” That was the tag line of beloved artist and environmental activist Tony Birkholz, who passed away Wednesday night surrounded by friends and family at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

There will be a memorial service celebrating Birkholz’s life Monday at the Pink Garter Theater. Doors open at 4:19 p.m. A ceremony begins at 7 p.m.

On a GoFundMe page created to raise funds for Birkholz’s funeral, the words of his friend Casey Hardison have offered solace to family and friends: “Tony embodied the sun and the light of the world. Tony warmed, and will continue to warm, the hearts of everyone he encounters with infectious laughter and thoughtful words of wisdom.”

“His ray of sunshine beams down on those around him wrapping them in his love, creativity and kindness,” Hardison continued. “There is not a soul who has met him that is not somehow affected by his curious and gentle nature.”

Stay tuned for more on Birkholz and the legacy he leaves behind in this week’s issue of The Planet.
